Jai Hind College

Jai Hind College is located at a short distance from Churchgate Railway station and Marine Drive in Mumbai. It offers more than 20 undergraduate courses. Established in 1948 by a group of teachers from the D. J. Sind College, Karachi, the college was established in the wake of the partition of India. Admission into the college is based on academic merit at secondary level.Jai Hind has gone on to become one of the premier educational institutions of Mumbai. However, the Managing Board and the Faculty do not believe in being complacent with the place they have carved in the field of education. Their endeavor is to move beyond the conventional academic programmes so as to keep pace with the changing academic scenario. With this in mind, several new programmes have been introduced, that have been extremely well received by students and prospective employers alike. The Placement Cell has been very active in drawing leading business organizations to the college, resulting in a large number of students being inducted into these organizations. The objective of the institution is to continue to expand while imparting useful and meaningful education, so that the students will emerge as good citizens of India.

Activities
Jai Hind College promotes participation in extra-curricular activities. The college has a Literary and Debating Society (LDS), a Gymkhana, Social and Dramatic Union (SDU) and a Hobby Centre. The two main annual events of the college include ‘Shoutt’ and the ‘Personality Contest’. Other committees like Gujarati Sahitya Mandal (GSM) and Hindi Parishad (HP) organise intra-college events such as Friendship Day and Dhoom. Students also organise festivals like Detour, Entourage, Talaash, Genaces and Cyberstrike.
Annual Festival
Entourage is an annual intercollegiate festival organised by students of Jai Hind College. It is held over 2 to 3 days and has academic, sports and cultural events. It has a distinct theme every year. The festival invites special guests and celebrities. The festival also collaborates with an NGO every year.
