Symbiosis Institute of Technology

Symbiosis Institute of Technology, a constituent of Symbiosis International University was established in the year, 2008 and currently offers B. Tech programmes in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech programmes in Computer Aided Design and Manufacture, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering. Research programmes leading to Ph. D. Degree were introduced in Faculty of Engineering of Symbiosis International University in 2010.

The Institute endeavors to provide quality technical education in line with the requirements of today's competitive industry and fast paced technological developments. The curriculum developed by the Institute lays a stress both on basics and latest developments. Realizing the fact that faculty is the most important resource, special efforts have been made to find, recruit and retain highly qualified and competent faculty. Infrastructure created and acquired by the Institute, like all other Symbiosis Institutes, is of a very high quality and includes multimedia classrooms, well equipped labs including software for CAD/CAM, simulations and other applications, well stocked modern library with digital media, auditorium, seminar halls, separate hostels for boys & girls and playgrounds.

Campus Infrastructure
Hostel Facility
The Institute has seven hostels. There are three blocks of girls and four blocks for boys.
The hostel rooms are spacious with natural light and ventilation. Each room has an attached toilet and
bathroom.
Each student is provided with a steel cot, a study table and chair and a mattress.
Security: The following arrangements have been made to ensure the security of the inmates of the hostels:
    Security check at the main gate of each Hostel.
    Lady guard at girls hostels, round the clock
    Surveillance video camera at entrance of all hostel buildings.
Wi-Fi Internet Facilities: All hostels have secure Wi-Fi internet connectivity, through high end firewall.
TV Lounge:Common TV lounge with cable connection on the ground floor of each hostel building.
Library: Library of Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) came into existence with the establishment of SIT in 2008. The library occupies a place of pride in SIT and plays a very vital role in provision of learning resources for academics and research. It is the most lively place on the campus providing a comfortable and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge, and promotes discovery and scholarship. Library is well equipped with latest information technology tools for information collection, processing and retrieval. The collection of books, journals, e-journals, reports and other reading resources are adequate for not only domain specific resources but for also general resources. Books and other resources are regularly augmented and online access to all premier journals as well as full-text & bibliographic databases available in the field of science, technology and allied subjects are provided to faculty, staff and students.
Health Facility: Symbiosis International (Deemed University) offers medical facilities for all its students and teaching and non-teaching staff through Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC). SCHC was established in 1997 with the mission of addressing the healthcare needs, primarily of the students & staff of Symbiosis, envisioning a state of ‘Positive Health’ in them. It is the “In-house Health Care Unit” of Symbiosis which provides preventive, promotive and curative health care services. The healthcare services are rendered to students & staff through standardized healthcare setups and quality NABL accredited lab services. 
Canteen: Symbi Food Court includes a traditional low priced Canteen, Café Coffee Day (CCD) and a Juice Bar. The Canteen serves snacks, beverages, breakfast and lunch with a variety of items which suit the needs of students belonging to different geographical locations of the Country and even abroad. Frequent random checks are carried out to ensure that the food served by the Food Court is hygienic, tastes good and is made from good quality ingredients.
Sports Facilities :
State of the art, sports infrastructure has been created on the campus which includes the following
    A gymnasium at Hill Base campus with modern equipment including computerized treadmills and other exercises.
    A similar gymnasium at the Hill Top Campus.
    Facilities for indoor games like table tennis, badminton, squash on the Hill top Campus. Facilities for table tennis, squash and other indoor games are available on the Hill Base Campus also.
    Swimming pool on the Hill Top Campus.
    A state of the art Cricket ground with flood lights on the Hill Top Campus.
    A vast multipurpose ground for Cricket and Foot ball on the Hill Base campus.
    Basket Ball Court on the Hill Top Campus.
    Lawn Tennis Courts are coming up on the Hill Base Campus.
Placements Comments
The Institute has a very well organized placement and training cell. The infrastructure in placement cell includes a seminar hall for conducting pre-placement talks, discussion rooms, interview rooms and other necessary amenities. The cell has good associations with a large number of renowned companies who visit the institute for campus recruitments. All the students of the final year are prepared for campus interviews through special programmes on technical and soft skills, which would help them get prestigious jobs. SIT had a successful placement season with the participation of leading companies across sectors, offering coveted profiles to the students of B.Tech and M.Tech. Leading companies from a multitude of sectors participated in the final placements offering ‘sought-after’ profiles with competitive packages. With multiple profiles on offer, students had plentiful options from amongst the 62 companies for 205 students across programmes. The recruiter portfolio comprised a healthy mix of recruiters from IT sectors and fast growing start-ups. Further, few students, with their exceptional effort during their Internships and reputed corporate competitions were awarded PPOs (pre placement offers) by highly coveted companies.
