University Of Bristol

University College, Bristol existed from 1876 to 1909 and was the precursor to the University of Bristol.Bristol is one of the most popular and successful universities in the UK and was ranked within the top 50 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2018.The University was the first higher education institution in the UK to admit men and women on an equal basis.The University is a chartered corporation and an exempt charity, whose legal status derives from a royal charter granted in 1909.University College, Bristol finally opened its doors at 9 am on Tuesday 10 October 1876 in rented premises at 32 Park Row. Initially there were two professors and five lecturers offering courses in 15 subjects. The College was open to men and women on the same basis (except in medicine). During the first session, 99 day students registered (30 men and 69 women) and 238 evening ones (143 men and 95 women).

The UCAS code name and number for this University is BRISL B78.Typical offers for CBSE and CISCE boards range from 80% (equivalent to ABB at A-Level) to 90% (equivalent to A*AA at A-Level).We understand that the majority of candidates from India have been taught in English throughout their education. A number of our departments will therefore accept Year 12 English language grades of 70% to 80% in lieu of another English test such as IELTS. For further guidance, please consult our English language requirements page.
